We established our office and soft-seating divisions four decades ago – and were the first South African company to design, produce and distribute furniture – for the corporate, retail and hospitality markets in Africa and abroad. About 7 million seats later, we introduced leading production and materials industry specialists into our process. This power base is the boldness to create expert, holistically developed seating concepts across the board.

We have an extensive Quality Control department in our process, and for many years have manufactured under a management system that conforms to ISO 9001, 18001 and 14001 certified standards. Namely: ISO 9001 (Design and Manufacturing), ISO 14001(Environmental Management) and OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety).

 We also try to ensure decent and fair working conditions are in place throughout our supply chain. We are committed to an uplifting value system that promotes socio-economic change and progress in our communities.

design + R&D

Our internal Design and Research|Development departments house a specialist team supporting exclusive product customisation and continual trajectories towards newer, better, safer and more comfortable. Separate divisions focus on desk chairs and soft seating. Other support services include space planning/concept design, fabric specialist consulting, graphic design, 3D modelling and an all-star sales force to be reckoned with.

Our product design strives to Design for Environment (DfE) — using components that are recyclable after the product’s life cycle—as well as longer-lasting and more functional. Our components also include the use of non-toxic and recycled raw materials which require less energy to process and are kinder to our planet. We have learned that to create sustainable furniture you don't need to compromise on material or aesthetics.

Since 2004 we have been working hard to create and support the economic, environmental and social conditions for a better and more sustainable world. We do this by reducing our environmental load and maintaining our environmental goals through bench-marked performance targets, audits and reports. We make every effort to continually improve our technology / processes in line with health / environmental shifts; and increase our expectations of supply chain partners.

What we value the most is people, not products.

Our corporate social responsibility extends beyond our practice of environmental sustainability — to initiatives that benefit society. We are involved in continuous upskill and staff adult education initiatives. Furthermore, in 2016 alone, we donated up to R13m worth of textiles, chairs and components to at least fifteen organisations that create daily miracles - training skills, empowering communities and upgrading education and care facilities.

A few of our beneficiaries include Child and Family Welfare, Jicama, Forever Friends, Turning Point Care Centre, United Cerebral Palsy Association, Lifeworx, Manger Care Centre, Oliver’s House, Compass, Skills To Furnish, Women against Rape, Community Assisting Schools (HA Jack Primary school), Durban and Coastal Mental health and The Loved Ones of God.
